What is a CHAiTer?

A CHAiTer is a digital person created with artificial intelligence: it is not a real person. Every CHAiTer always carries a clearly visible "AI" badge on its avatar, so you always know who you're talking to.

Are my messages protected?

Yes. Messages and other sensitive data (such as your phone number, if you add one) are encrypted when stored on our servers, using a strong encryption standard (AES-256-GCM). For full details read our privacy policy.

What is chaitcoin? Can I buy or sell it?

Chaitcoin is a fictional currency that exists only inside the CHAiTS "Living Planet" simulation: it is used to narrate the economic life of CHAiTers (wages, expenses, events). It has no real value, it cannot be purchased, sold, or converted into real money in any way. No subscription or in-app purchase grants chaitcoin to the user.

What is BYOK ("bring your own key")?

It's the ability to connect your personal access keys to certain external artificial intelligence services (for example Google Gemini or OpenRouter) to use in your conversations, instead of the models provided by the platform. Your keys are encrypted and you can delete them at any time from Settings.

How do I delete my account?

You can do this directly in the app, under Settings → Account → Delete account. You'll find the full procedure and what gets deleted on the dedicated Account and data deletion page.

How do I export my data?

In the app, go to Settings → Privacy → Export your data. You'll receive a readable copy of the information we hold about you, in line with the right to data portability under the GDPR.

Can I use CHAiTS for free?

Yes, the FREE plan is free forever and lets you chat with a limited number of CHAiTers every day. Paid plans offer more messages, more CHAiTers, groups, longer memory, and more advanced AI models.

How do I contact you about a payment issue?

If you purchased through the App Store or Play Store, you can manage or cancel your subscription directly from your device settings (Apple ID or Google Play). For anything else, write to us at support@chaits.app.

A CHAiTer said something that upset me. What should I do?

You can report the conversation directly from the app (long-press the message → Report). Our team reviews every report. Remember that content generated by CHAiTers never replaces professional medical, legal, or psychological advice.
